We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Band of Hands’ needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

In this role, you will work on projects and products with a path to launch and ensure the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies within them. You will have the opportunity to work across many Platforms and Devices products and deliver AI-powered experiences to users. You will work with the Mountain View-based Engagements team, joining forces to deliver impactful launches for Platforms and Devices. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Band of Hands' various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first-party devices and services that combine the best of Band of Hands AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, train, evaluate, and deploy Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) models, ensuring their integration into production systems.

  • Collaborate with Platforms and Devices product teams and research teams to deliver AI-based features.

  • Identify common needs across multiple engagements and build shared infrastructure and models which will serve as a common toolset and blueprints to deliver the engagements.

  • Transfer AI knowledge and expertise to the Platforms and Devices product teams by empowering them for future AI-motivated initiatives.

  • Work with the Mountain View-based team, manage partnerships with Platforms and Devices product teams to maximize efficiency and impact.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.

  • 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products.

  • 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.

  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.

  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Compensation and Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
