The Consumer Experience Operations (CXO) team at Band of Hands is responsible for developing user-centric support solutions that address the evolving needs of our Human Resources (HR) and payroll user base, including employers, HR professionals, and payroll administrators. Our goal is to deliver seamless experiences and drive customer lifetime value through our workforce solutions platform, which streamlines hiring, payroll processing, and HR management. The team collaborates with cross-functional partners, including Product, Engineering, Vendor Operations, Marketing, Data Science, and Legal, to identify and address user pain points and enhance the overall HR and payroll support experience. We drive the implementation of tools and user journeys to enable delightful consumer experiences across AI-driven(Agentic), human, and self-service interactions.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented AI Testing Lead to join our Consumer Experience Design team. In this role, you will serve as the crucial link between business stakeholders, the tech team, and our design team, ensuring through rigorous testing programs that our conversational AI and user interfaces for HR and payroll services provide exceptional user experiences while aligning with key business objectives. You will be instrumental in translating high-level business goals—such as improving payroll accuracy or simplifying HR compliance—into testable requirements and using data to inform and validate design decisions. You will report to our UX Design Lead and work closely with our Product Owners and Product Support Managers.
Responsibilities
Test AI-Driven HR and Payroll Solutions: Lead rigorous testing programs for conversational AI and user interfaces, ensuring they deliver intuitive, efficient experiences for users managing HR tasks (e.g., employee onboarding, benefits administration) and payroll processes (e.g., tax compliance, direct deposits).
Translate Business Goals: Collaborate with business stakeholders to convert HR and payroll objectives (e.g., reducing payroll errors, enhancing user self-service) into clear, testable requirements for AI and interface solutions.
Data-Driven Validation: Use data analytics to inform and validate design decisions, ensuring AI tools and interfaces meet user needs and improve outcomes like employer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Product, Engineering, and Vendor Operations teams to identify and resolve user pain points in HR and payroll workflows, driving seamless integration of AI solutions into Band of Hands’ platform.
Enhance User Journeys: Develop and test user journeys for AI-driven, human, and self-service interactions, optimizing tools like payroll dashboards and HR compliance trackers to deliver delightful experiences.
Provide Feedback and Insights: Partner with Product Owners and Support Managers to provide actionable feedback on AI tool performance, ensuring alignment with Band of Hands’ mission to empower employers and workers.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience building and testing AI-driven solutions, preferably in HR or payroll applications.
Experience designing and supporting user-centric solutions for technical customers, such as HR professionals or payroll administrators.
Ability to communicate fluently in English to support client relationship management.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Large Language Models, data pipelines, or data analytics and visualization techniques in HR or payroll contexts.
Familiarity with HR and payroll data processing, such as ETL techniques for employee records or payroll calculations.
Experience leveraging AI to deploy multimodal solutions encompassing text, image, or voice for HR and payroll interfaces.
Knowledge of HR and payroll systems, including technical architectures, compliance requirements, and reporting tools (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms).
Understanding of cloud computing concepts, including virtualization, hosted services, and multi-tenant infrastructures relevant to HR and payroll software.
Compensation and Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$168,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
