As a Principal Workforce Solutions Engineer, Data and AI, you’ll leverage your expertise in AI, machine learning (ML), and data infrastructure to match clients—such as tech firms, data centers, and research organizations—with elite engineers while providing technical leadership for their data and AI projects.
In this role, you’ll guide clients in building and optimizing data platforms for AI applications, mentor internal teams, and promote Band of Hands’ services at events to attract employers and candidates. You’ll work in a collaborative, virtual environment, using tools like Confluence and Jira to document processes and track project milestones. Responsibilities
Talent Matching and Technical Leadership: Partner with clients (e.g., tech firms, data centers) to identify AI and data engineering needs and match them with top-tier candidates, including interns and professionals, for roles involving data enrichment, indexing, and AI training platforms.
Data Infrastructure Evolution: Advise clients on evolving their data and information retrieval (IR) systems to support AI applications, focusing on usability, reliability, scalability, and efficiency for projects like machine learning model training and data processing.
Mentorship and Team Growth: Mentor Band of Hands’ technical recruiters and engineers, fostering expertise in AI and data infrastructure to ensure sustainable talent placement and client project success.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams and clients across industries to define and implement data strategies that support an AI-driven future, aligning with Band of Hands’ mission to empower work connections.
Client and Candidate Engagement: Collaborate with client product management and engagement teams to ensure data systems meet current and future needs, while promoting Band of Hands at job fairs and industry events to build partnerships.
Thought Leadership: Identify and design high-impact solutions for complex data and AI challenges, providing strategic guidance to clients and shaping Band of Hands’ long-term workforce solutions strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience driving technical innovation in one or more of the following: AI/ML, distributed systems, information retrieval, or resource optimization.
Experience developing machine learning models and supporting infrastructure.
Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings or industry events (e.g., job fairs).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical field.
20 years of professional software engineering experience, or 15 years with an advanced degree.
Proven ability to lead cross-organizational collaboration and influence team roadmaps.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills (written and verbal).
Thought leadership in identifying and solving complex engineering problems at a principal engineer level.
Track record of delivering high-impact projects within tight timelines.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive Compensation: Starting base salary range of $300,000–$420,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and equity opportunities. Individual pay varies by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
